MTA Gift Vouchers can be used to purchase almost any product or service offered by any of the almost 3,500 MTA members around the country. There’s plenty for everyone to buy with their MTA Gift Vouchers, from chocolates to seat coverings, milk to magazines, and, of course, gasoline and vehicle maintenance.
Is it possible to use gift cards for gas?
A. The Gasoline Gift Card is a prepaid debit card (not a credit card!) that may be used at any VISA-accepting manned fuel station.
A. Your Card is accepted at VISA Acceptance Marked fuel stations in the United Kingdom.
The Fuel Gift Card can be used to buy gas at any manned gas station or supermarket, with the exception of Pay at Pump.
How do I make use of my MTA voucher?
MTA members activate the card by loading the value chosen by the customer into their EFTPOS terminal. Customers will receive an EFTPOS receipt displaying the balance on the card once it has been loaded. After your card has been activated, you can check the balance at any time.
What gift cards do you have that you can use for gas?
Yes, your Visa Gift Card can be used at a gas station. However, if your card has a low balance, you may be unable to use it due to your banking institution’s necessary “pre-authorization” amount. On gas pump purchases, some financial institutions need a larger pre-authorization amount to guarantee you have enough money on your card to cover a full tank of gas. If you want to use your Gift Card, go inside and pay with the cashier.
Is it possible to utilize MTA vouchers at Z?
- We are glad to accept orders from customers outside of New Zealand, however please keep in mind that vouchers and gift cards can only be used in New Zealand and must be delivered to a New Zealand address.
- For foreign orders, the handling and administration fees will differ from the listed New Zealand prices.
What is the procedure for purchasing gasoline vouchers?
A Z gift card may be purchased at most Z service stations for a fixed sum ranging from $20 to $500. You may also buy from Giftstation online for any sum between $20 and $1,000.
It operates like cash and can be used on everything from gas to a flat white to a vehicle wash to a bag of chips. It’s fine to go till the card expires or the balance runs out, whichever comes first.
The T&Cs
- A Z gift card is equivalent to cash. Please keep it safe because we won’t be able to replace it if it is stolen, lost, or broken.
- You can use your card at any participating Z service station after it’s been activated.
- When you use it, we can’t give you change, and any money remaining on the card after it expires can’t be redeemed, transferred, or refunded.
- You can use your credit card to make a partial payment. So, if you need $50 worth of gas but only have $10 on your gift card, combine the Z gift card and your EFTPOS card. That means you’ll always be able to exhaust your entire balance.
- Every time you use the card, we’ll notify you how much money you have left. You can also check your balance online or on your receipt.
- You have 24 months from the date of purchase to use the card. After you buy something, check the expiry date on the back of your receipt or look it up online.
What is the procedure for purchasing MTA vouchers?

If you can’t afford to top up your prepayment meter
You may be eligible for a gasoline voucher. This is a code that you receive in the form of a letter, a text message, or an email. It can be used to top up your gas card or your electricity key. If you don’t have one, talk to your supplier about getting one.
Find your local council on GOV.UK to see whether they can assist you in obtaining a fuel voucher. If you’re still unsure if you’ll be eligible for a voucher, get advice from an adviser.
