Where Are Axitec Solar Panels Made?

Installing stable, high-quality panels is a critical component in constructing a successful solar system that will generate free electricity for decades. However, with so many solar panel manufacturers to choose from, finding the correct one can be challenging.

We’ll compare two of the most popular solar panel manufacturers on the market today, Axitec and LG Solar, to help you out.

Since 2001, Axitec has been manufacturing solar panels. They are based in Germany and produce their panels in Europe and Asia for global distribution. LG Solar, which is a division of LG Electronics, began producing solar panels in 2004. The South Korean firm produces panels in Asia and America for global distribution.

Where do Axitec panels come from?

AXITEC Energy, based in Germany, was created in 2001 with a focus on the solar module and energy storage markets. The company’s engineering, research, and design work is done in Germany, although their production capacity of 800MWp is split across Asia and Europe. AXITEC solar panels are made in China and sold in Australia and New Zealand.

With an office in Adelaide, South Australia, AXITEC Energy Australia, a subsidiary of AXITEC Energy GmbH Co.KG, joined the Australian and New Zealand markets in 2019. Due to concerns with their warranty documentation, minimum power rating, and year of production, AXITEC Solar Panels were briefly available in 2017 before being delisted from the Clean Energy Council (CEC) approved product list. The CEC has now authorized 35 models in the previous two years, resolving these difficulties.

Which solar panels are manufactured in the United States?

  • Hanwha Q CELLS, Jinko Solar, Silfab Solar, Mission Solar Energy, and Solaria are the top five solar panel producers in the United States.
  • These businesses manufacture high-efficiency solar panels for household and commercial use.
  • LG, a leading solar panel manufacturer in the United States, has declared that it will cease production and quit the sector in 2022. With decreased competition, other producers may be able to gain a larger part of the market.
  • Because this is the last year for homeowners to take advantage of the 26 percent federal tax credit, residential solar installations are likely to rise in 2022. In 2023, the federal tax credit will be reduced from 26 percent to 22 percent.

What types of solar panels are manufactured in Canada?

HELIENE Solar PV modules are wholly manufactured in Canada, and as a result, they are duty-free. Made in Minnesota (MiM) legislation applies to HELIENE modules produced at the Mountain Iron factory.

Growatt inverters are built in the United States.

Growatt New Energy is a maker of residential, commercial, and large-scale utility solar inverters that was launched in 2010. Growatt’s headquarters are in Shenzhen, China, and their main manufacturing plant is in Huizhou, where they produce 20GW of inverter output annually.

They created a subsidiary in Australia a year after the company was started. Since then, the company has developed to a global network of 23 sales and service locations. The Australian headquarters of Growatt are in Silverwater, NSW.

We were unable to locate any information about the company’s proprietors because it is privately owned. Growatt does not make financial or sales information available to the public.

Is it true that all solar panels are created in China?

We Ozzy’s are a very patriotic bunch. We feel that we have the best beaches, weather, and overall lifestyle of any country on the planet. I most surely do! As patriotic citizens, we also prefer to help our fellow citizens as much as possible, which includes buying Ozzy merchandise and doing business with Ozzy enterprises whenever possible…as long as it doesn’t hurt too much.

The query “do you install any Australian Made solar panels?” has been much more common since mid-2020. People all over the world are realizing today, more than ever, that we need to protect what we have and help our neighbors as much as possible, thanks in part to Covid-19.

With that in mind, we’ve compiled a list of all the pertinent information on Australian-made solar panels, as well as some of the most often asked manufacturer-specific questions:

We also believe in using local labor, and because we install throughout such a broad area, we have teams in every major city in the states we serve. This means that instead of personnel traveling from capital cities all the time, we have local installation and service teams for our customers in the smaller villages we serve.

What solar panels are made in Australia?

Other solar panels have been manufactured in Australia in the past, but Tindo is currently the sole brand that produces solar panels in Australia. We install Tindo solar panels for customers who request them, but we also install solar panels from other countries. There are numerous reasons for this; for more information, see our Tindo Review.

As previously stated, we like to support Australian manufacturers whenever feasible. Tindos, like any other solar panel, are not for everyone, and there are advantages and disadvantages to using them. So, when deciding which solar panel is best for you, make an informed decision.

So, what solar panels are made in Germany?

Historically, this has been the more popular question. The Germans have such a strong reputation for quality that people all over the world want everything to be made in Germany! What are the best automobiles? What are the best electrical appliances made in Germany? What are the best power tools made in Germany? You get the concept. Made in Germany. As a result, here is a list of solar panels made in Germany that have been certified for sale and installation in Australia by the CEC: That’s all there is to Solawatt and Aleo.

We don’t sell many Solawatt panels since we don’t think they’re worth the money. Don’t get me wrong, they’re a fantastic panel, but they’re a tiny manufacturer with few distributors in Australia and not much else to offer in terms of appeal other from the Made in Germany label.

With regards to Aleo, another good German solar panel, we have no direct experience with them and their presence in Australia is pretty limited, so we cannot truly comment on the value they provide.

For many years, Q-Cells was the leading German solar panel producer, but in 2012, Hanwha purchased them and shifted their manufacturing to Korea. In terms of a balance of quality, price, and warranty safety, they are still arguably the greatest solar panel available. For additional information on Q-Cell panels, see our Q-Cell Review.

What solar panels are NOT made in China?

So, I’m glad we phrased this as “what solar panels are NOT created in China,” because if I had to list all the panels made in China, we’d be here for a long time. Except for Tindo Australia, Q-Cell Korea (and some in China), REC Singapore, LG Korea (and some in China), Hyundai Vietnam, Thailand (and some in China), Sunpower Mexico (and some in China), Winaico Taiwan, Aleo Germany, and Solawatt Germany, every solar panel you can buy here is made in China.

Please note that there may be more brands with tiny facilities in other countries, but if their major manufacture is in China, I have excluded them from this list.

Are solar panels from China poor quality?

The short answer is that you may acquire high-quality things from China as well as low-quality products. Rather than deciding on a solar panel based on where it is manufactured, consider the following:

  • What is the name of the manufacturer, and will they be able to assist me if I need to file a warranty claim?

If they check all of the above boxes and fit inside your budget, don’t be concerned about where they’re created. Yes, it would be lovely if we could always buy Australian products, and we should do so whenever possible. But the reality is that there is currently only one option for solar panels made in Australia, and it will not fit everyone. If a superior solar panel for your needs is built in Vietnam, China, Mexico, or Timbuktu, it’s probably one of those instances when you should do what’s good for you and then help the Australian economy in other ways. We can’t always buy Australian-made products, and it’s especially tough with solar panels.

Summary:

Solar panels are presently mostly created in China, with a few made in other nations and only one built in Australia. Make an informed judgment and choose a manufacturer who appears to be in business for the long haul. The most serious problem we’ve seen in this market in the last decade is manufacturers that don’t stand the test of time, leaving customers without warranties or assistance. Phono Solar, LG Solar, Q-Cells, and Hyundai are among the most diverse solar manufacturers. Every solar panel brand, however, has advantages and disadvantages to consider.

Where are LG solar panels manufactured?

The solar supply chain is complicated. Because of tariffs on solar panels imported into the US, many manufacturers rely on contract manufacturing networks to provide cost-effective scale to meet market demand.

We do not believe in outsourcing the manufacturing of our solar products at LG. All of our solar panels are manufactured in-house at our Gumi, South Korea, and Huntsville, Alabama facilities. Why? We believe it is the best way to oversee and maintain the high quality of our products, which we back with a 25-year limited material, low degradation performance guarantee, and labor reimbursement to serve valid warranty claims (with the warranty covering up to $450 of labor in the rare case that a solar panel needs to be repaired or replaced).

LG is committed to the quality of every solar panel that bears our name and enters the market. We can ensure that every product is made with the materials we pick under strict quality control procedures at our own manufacturing facilities. Our solar panels are also put through their paces in our own testing lab, which is accredited by TV Rheinland and Underwriters Laboratories. Our goal is to deliver the greatest level of service possible in order to maintain our image as a reputable global brand.

Near 2019, LG began construction on a 550 MW solar project in Huntsville, Alabama. Every year, that’s enough solar panels to power almost 91,000 households (assuming a 6kW system average). Our factory in Gumi, South Korea, produces more NeON 2 solar panels as well as our NeON R range.

LG’s best-selling solar panel is the NeON 2, and generating 550MW of NeON 2 panels in the United States has a variety of advantages:

Panasonic solar panels are made in Japan.

Since 1975, Panasonic has been a leader in the solar panel business. Initially, the Tokyo-based firm concentrated on producing amorphous solar modules, commonly known as “thin film solar panels.” Panasonic’s focus turned to a new type of solar panel in 1997, which they have subsequently become recognized for: HIT modules.

Panasonic, despite being a well-known solar panel manufacturer, has announced that it will no longer manufacture its own panels and has terminated its manufacturing agreement with Tesla. After 2022, any Panasonic-branded panels will be produced by a third-party company. Their energy storage products and inverters, on the other hand, will continue to be made in their Japanese factory.

Let’s take a look at the Panasonic items that are currently available, as well as what the future holds for them.

Which solar panels are the best in Germany?

Some businesses failed in the aftermath of the 2008 global financial crash, unable to compete with imported solar panels.

Some, like Bosch Solar Energy, were acquired by SolarWorld, while others, like Conergy, declared bankruptcy in 2013 after failing to compete with low-cost Chinese imports.

Despite the setbacks, Germany continues to produce some of the world’s best solar panels, with the following companies placing in the top ten:

In Germany, how much do solar panels cost?

Solar panels currently cost $2.66 per watt on a nationwide scale. Solar panels, on the other hand, are typically $3 per watt in Germany. A 7.5-kilowatt system is required for the ordinary German homeowner, which will cost around $14,227, or $10,528 once the federal solar tax credit is applied.

Please keep in mind that the figures above are simply averages. The cost of solar will vary depending on your household’s energy needs, the type of solar system you select, your solar contractor, and other factors. For most homeowners, the initial investment in solar power is well worth it. Over the course of 20 years, you may save almost $13,000 on your energy expenditures.
