In Harris County, how do I set up water?
Proof of ownership (i.e. HCAD statement, current mortgage statement, or closing paperwork) or a lease for non-owners must be submitted as part of the application process to ensure the account is opened in the right name or names. The name on the ownership or lease documentation MUST be the same as the name on the account. It is required that the application be notarized. Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., a notary is available at no charge at our office.
Customers from outside the area must have a notarized copy of their Application for New Service mailed to our office, along with the deposit, application fee, and Service Agreement. To start service, we’ll need a copy of the lease or a sellers/buyers agreement. This will ensure that the deposit amounts are correct. Accounts can have several names if both parties’ identifications are validated.
